The trust was nominated by Sainsbury’s customers through a ballot last year and became their charity of the year. Over the last 12 months the store has hosted several events to raise funds such as a Race Night, Pancake roll eating challenge, sale of used books and store collections. Terry Bull, Co-founder of Crackerjacks said “We have been overwhelmed by the support of the store and its customers, it has been an honour to be associated with Sainsbury’s over the last twelve months”. Without the help and support of the public the trust would struggle to support its cause. I find it amazing the kind generosity of people today and the trust would like to “thank them all”. The trust is now into its fourth successful year of raising funds and awareness for children with disabilities. A presentation was held at the store to present the charity with a cheque for the amount of £11,500. These funds will go towards buying a specially adapted holiday home to allow the children and their families to have a well-earned respite break during stressful times.
