NURSERY children have raised £157 for charity by celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Day.

The children made cards, tissue flowers, rainbows, and bookmarks, and donated food to the food bank.

They also discussed ways to be kind at nursery and home during circle time.

The money raised will go to Crackerjacks, a children's charity.

Random Acts of Kindness Day is celebrated on February 17 and encourages people to perform simple acts of kindness for others.

Nursery manager Gaynor Carter said: "It's important for children to understand that simple acts of kindness can positively impact how someone feels and that being kind is worthwhile just to make someone smile."

"We’re over the moon as we’ve managed to raise £157 so far for Crackerjacks with money still coming in.

"We’re so thankful and grateful to our wonderful families for supporting us and the children to make this year’s celebrations so special."
